Hey ladies, anyone else getting awful leg cramps/charlie horses in the middle of the night with pregnancy??? It's starting to become a burden as the frequency has increased to about 3-4 times a week for me. I'm trying the dietary suggestions my midwife recommended but nothing seems to be working right now. :( So frustrated!

I woke up with a charley horse in my left calf this morning, and I've read they are common in pregnancy. I could kind of feel it coming on, but I haven't had one in years so I guess I didn't connect the dots. Besides the muscle cramp, I also became really hot, thirsty, had to pee, and felt like I was going to throw up or pass out all at once. ( Read more... )

Only 4w2d, basically just found out I'm pregnant, and suddenly for the first time in my life, I'm getting terrible leg pain. I looked it up in the tags, but most of the "leg pain" entries deal with charley horse/calf cramping, and that is definitely not it. I've had a couple of pretty bad leg cramps (in my calves) the last few mornings. My husband says its because I'm not drinking enough and need more electrolytes. He's prolly right. I really don't drink very much throughout the day, I just don't think about it. So ( Read more... )

So, my ultimate goal with this pregnancy is to have a nice, natural home birth. My first birth was a drug-free, mostly intervention free hospital birth. I just feel like I keep getting railroaded at every turn. I've did meet a midwife a couple of weeks ago, and I really like her, but I've yet to follow up with her. jeeze i've gotten so big over the past few weeks. i've even noticed a huge different in the last week! i've been so hungry lately, so i've been eating lots of healthy snacks all day, and allow myself ONE treat a day. usually a piece of junk food, ice cream sandwich or chocolate bar. i've been getting insane leg cramps every night.. it's awful. i ( Read more... )

The last few days I've been having some pretty decent contractions, or what I assume to be contractions. They are not uber painful, but they definitely have a twinge to them that nothing else I've felt, has had.

Also, last night and the one previous to it, I have had several charlie horses in my right calf each night while I'm sleeping.. ( Read more... )
